Kalute date

Kalute, sometimes called Kaliteh or Kaloute, is a premium Iranian date variety cherished for its soft texture, mild sweetness, and rich nutritional content. Grown primarily in the Jiroft region of Kerman Province, Kalute dates thrive in the warm, fertile southern climate of Iran, which produces fruit with a glossy, light to dark brown skin and a firm, meaty pit. These dates are slightly smaller than Mazafati but offer a delicately sweet flavor that makes them popular for both fresh consumption and culinary use.

Category:

The cultivation of Kalute dates is concentrated in Jiroft, but the surrounding areas of Bam, Kahnuj, Hormozgan, and Sistan & Baluchestan provinces also contribute to their production. The combination of warm days, mild nights, and rich soil ensures a high-quality yield with consistent moisture content, giving Kalute dates their characteristic softness and melt-in-the-mouth feel.

Rich in natural sugars, fiber, and essential minerals, Kalute dates are a healthy, energy-boosting snack. Their soft flesh and thin skin make them perfect for eating fresh or adding to desserts and smoothies.

Freshness That Lasts

Kalute dates can remain fresh for several months when stored at room temperature in a cool, dry place. For extended preservation, refrigeration at 0–5°C can maintain their quality for up to 12 months, while freezing at −5°C allows storage for up to 24 months without affecting flavor or texture.

A Unique Taste Experience

Kalute dates stand out for their soft, fleshy bite and gentle caramel-like sweetness. Unlike many other date varieties, their balanced moisture and texture make them ideal for direct consumption or gourmet applications, reflecting the rich agricultural heritage of southern Iran.
